FAQ

“Tell me something good...”

HOW CAN I RECEIVE MORE INFO OR BOOK MY SESSION?

Please fill out the form on my CONTACT page and I will get back to you within 48 hours to set up your pre-session phone consultation and book your shoot.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY SESSION?

Each client is important to me. To ensure that you receive the individual attention you deserve, I accept a limited number of clients each month, so book early! When possible, fall/winter sessions should be booked in the summer, and spring/summer sessions should be booked in the winter.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Your photos should reflect your personal style. During your phone consultation, we will talk about you and what you like. I’ll offer suggestions, but you definitely want to be yourself. Families should coordinate but not wear identical outfits. Steer clear of trendy logos and clothes that make you uncomfortable. A Google or Pinterest search for “senior photo outfits” or “family photo outfits” will give you plenty of ideas. Don’t forget about accessories, jewelry, and shoes, and if you choose to wear heels, be sure to bring comfortable walking shoes to change into since we will be on location. There are some general rules to follow, but sometimes breaking the rules in the right way has great results!

AS A SENIOR, WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT MY SESSION?

These are among my favorite photo sessions – I love teenagers! My goal is to help seniors feel comfortable, have fun, and express their unique, God-given qualities in their photos. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a senior excited about their photos and eager to share them with friends and family.

The following are frequently asked questions about senior portraits. Be sure to read the other FAQ sections as well.

  • SHOULD I GET MY HAIR AND MAKEUP DONE? Do what makes you feel your very best. Having your hair and makeup done professionally before your session can make you feel amazing and confident. We will discuss what's best for you during your consultation, and I can offer suggestions that will work within your budget.
  • SHOULD I BRING ANYONE WITH ME TO MY SHOOT? Sure! As long as you’re comfortable in front of them, bring mom, dad, or a friend. Another person can be helpful with outfit changes and makeup/hair touch-ups. If you prefer, you can come solo. Keep in mind that a relaxed, fun atmosphere will result in better photos, so whomever you bring along should contribute to creating that environment.
  • WHAT ABOUT PROPS? SHOULD I BRING ANYTHING TO MY SESSION? It’s great to bring along items that have personal meaning to you or that represent your hobbies or extracurricular activities. Are you an athlete, cheerleader, or musician? Bring your letterman jacket, pom-poms, guitar. You may want to bring special books or your Bible. Announce the college you’re attending with a small canvas or wooden print with the school’s logo. If you want photos with your car or truck, make sure it’s washed and drive it to your session. Don’t forget hats and other fashion favorites. And ask me about photos with your pets – we can make it happen!

WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS BAD WEATHER THE DAY OF MY SESSION?

Part of the “Texas life” is getting used to our unpredictable weather. Don’t worry! Overcast, cloudy days can make beautiful photos, and we will only reschedule if there is more than a 50% chance of rain or if it’s below 45 degrees. I will notify you ASAP if there is a weather situation that will prevent us from shooting, and we will reschedule your session for the first available date.

WHEN DO I GET TO SEE MY PHOTOS?

Approximately two weeks following your session you will be provided with a private online viewing gallery. At that time, we will schedule an ordering appointment, which can take place in person or on the phone, to put together the perfect package for your needs.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MY ORDER?

Your images and prints will be ready approximately two weeks from the time you place your order and will be delivered either by mail or in person. Digital images will be provided on a USB drive and can possibly be ready sooner. Some custom orders may take longer.

CAN I HAVE MY UNEDITED PHOTOS?

I only release fully edited images. Editing is part of my process and my style, and it’s a big part of why you hired me. I edit to enhance your natural beauty and ensure you and your surroundings look the very best, not to change your appearance or make you not look like you. I shoot photos in a format that is intended to be edited; your images straight out of my camera simply are not yet what they should be. With my graphic design background, I’ve been editing photos for professional photographers long before becoming one myself, and it’s a skill I’ve developed over many years. I will take hundreds of photos during your session, which I will mindfully consider, then fully retouch the images that represent the heart of your photo shoot and make you shine. This takes time, patience, and attention to detail, and I won’t give you anything less than a fully finished portrait.

CAN I SHARE MY IMAGES ONLINE?

Please do! I want you to show off your photos! In addition to your print-quality images, you will be provided with web-quality images that can be easily shared on social media. And if you follow me on FACEBOOK or INSTAGRAM, there's a good chance you'll get an advance sneak peek of your photos!

ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD KNOW?

At this time, I accept payment by cash or online through PayPal. An invoice and contract/print release will be provided. Shipping charges may be applied to mail orders. Rush processing is available for an additional fee. Please CONTACT me if you have additional questions.
